Michèle
Vander Elst

Sculptor

About the artist

Michèle is a Belgian artist. Trained at Sint-Lukas in Brussels and the Academy of Anderlecht, she refined her craft through residencies in France. From Watermael-Boitsfort, she found her way to Jette, where she has lived and worked for over twenty years. Her career spans plaster figurines, monumental animals, mosaics, and decorative painting in art-deco buildings. Today she focuses entirely on sculpture, expressing feminine grace and childlike playfulness.

Artistic vision

I choose simplicity and harmony.

In recent work, Michèle focuses on the human figure, seeking beauty in posture, movement, and emotion — beyond perfection. Her deep material knowledge and experimental drive let each medium speak with power and delicacy.
